We naturally put what we see into neat categories and we all have set ways of thinking about what we do: drawing has the capacity to challenge these habits.
In 2012 for example, DRAWINGHAM contributed to an afternoon activity with Edgbaston Arts Forum in which artists drew passers-by on the inside of an empty shop window.
It developed into a ‘two-way theatre’ of drawing, with passers-by performing for artists who, in return, performed for passers-by.
DRAWINGHAM is open to working with anyone in ways, like this, that explode existing ideas.
What may seem an impossibility can lead to people thinking in radically different ways about how they make marks and what meaning those marks have for themselves and others.
DRAWINGHAM welcomes a challenge!
