The urge to make your mark is deeply rooted: cave people left their hand prints and we see it at work today in graffiti. Drawing can simply say ‘I am here’ or it can be celebratory: these ‘homes’ were drawn/written by older people at Ladywood Community Centre during a project commissioned by Birmingham City Council.


Drawing in this way can lead to increased self-confidence leading to a sense of wellbeing, and potentially to further learning.
